I’ve learned a lot from you. I’ve learned that though with all my heart I want to trust someone, I can only trust and love them as far as they deserve or my heart will be stomped on. I’ve learned that I can fight for someone, but it’s important to know the difference between fighting for them and fighting with them. I’ve learned that once you’ve laid down all that you have, after you’ve shown your last card, after you’ve given your heart, and you’re still left with nothing. I though I knew who you were when I first met you, But I haven't been so wrong in my entire life. I was told that when someone breaks your heart there is always another person out there to fix it . You have said time and time again that you think that I'm afraid of commitment. I think that's true to a certain extent but there are also many other things that I am afraid of. All of these fears paralyze me and make it almost impossible for me to keep moving forward in a serious relationship, but I put all that aside and let my guard down only for you to step on it. How unfortunate, you didn't hesitate to let me go. We can only learn from our experiences. I hope that the next guy I meet never turns out like you.  it’s time to get up and quietly leave. No mess, no noise, no fighting, just leave with hope for the next love.

Darkskin vs Lightskin

This has been an issue troubling the black community for decades and I feel that it has effected colored females to take drastic measures like bleach their skin to feel excepted or to feel "prettier". Even in the entertainment business most rappers will hire the "light skin model" over the "dark skin model". So why is that? we ask. This problem generates to hundreds of years ago when the slavery trade took place in the United States. This defined economic status and social hierarchy. Light skin slaves were considered more successful whereas the darker slaves were looked down upon. Studies show that an average 5 year old will define "black" or "darkskinned" dirty and unappealing and the "white" or "brighter skin" is more attractive. I am so appalled by how far us black people came and yet we still feel the need to segregate ourselves based on skin tones.  It just does not add up. I come from a household of four sisters including myself, two of my younger sisters being lighter and my other sister and I being a more darker complexion. I used to question myself at a young age, wondering why I looked different from my siblings. Which is perfectly normal because all children go through a cognitive stage where they start to discover themselves. As I grew older it made sense to me that its okay to be different. Being of East African decent, I later found out that my country (Somalia) was colonized by the Italians, British and French. This caused a vast change in the culture,language and economy. I know that everyone has a different preference, some people choose to date dark skin women or men and some choose to date more lighter females or males. To each it's own, I am really not trying to knock anyones preference but as black people we must embrace our god given beauty and appreciate it. This is really an insult to the people who fought for our freedom such as Martin Luther King, Malcome X and Rosa Parks. These people have battled for equality from the white supremacy and other racial cults that prevented black people from attending school or better yet drinking from the same water fountain. But now in our day in age, we are fighting to respect ones skin complexion??......I will prey for all the ignorant minded people out there.

Haters Are My Motivation

Definition: A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person. 

I noticed when I have my shit together, happy and successful....I suddenly get a few haters but its expected in the city I live in. Ottawa people are bored and have nothing better to do. Meanwhile Im on my grind and trying to make something of myself. But lately its been more and more haters. Frankly, I could care less. As ambitious I am, I felt devoted enough to write my haters a special letter...expressing my love for their reckless actions

Dear Hater,

I want to thank you for all the foul names you have called me, all the negativity and envy has really made me the woman I am today. I cannot thank you enough for the persistence of your actions. The condescending tone when you see me in public and how can I forget that fake smile. I want to thank you for speaking ill of my family and doubting success. In the good words of Maino "Please don't leave me hater, I need you hater". 

I wanted to ask, did you end up getting checked for that disease? did you get prescribed any sort of meds? I know a little part of you competes with me but I will surely see you at the finish line. I kind of feel sorry for you, instead of all this anger...why don't you compose that into a goal? Oh I forgot your goal is to destroy my self worth. The sad thing is, you come in all shapes forms and sizes. I feared you at some points in my life...You were most likely a good friend of mine, a family member or an outsider just looking in.  You have caused me to spend days in the gym about my appearance, sleepless nights about all the name calling and constant crying about the bashing. But Im stronger now and I really don't need your validation to move up in my life so you need to step down.

Okay, So this is a topic that generally comes up ALL the time.  I have made possible reasons to this question. Everyone knows that females are indecisive, we don't know what we want, and when we have something its just not up to "Par" or good enough. Do you ever just think its you? .....Yea,Yea I said it.. as females we like to play the victim in relationships but men only treat you the way you want to be treated, so when you give them a window of opportunity... they will FUCK UP 80% of the time...but in reality they are lost and confused to your angry reaction because YOU have allowed them to test the waters. Women tend to say  "I want a baller"  "I want a man that has education" "I want a man that respects women" "I want a man with a car and makes 7 figure digits" ......But what do YOU have to offer.....Do your requirements meet his?  Do you even have a steady income, education or have a car. Men love a challenge, so when you "Play hard to get" it sparks their attention....They are interesting creatures that love the adrenalin from chasing a female...But did you ever wonder why everything is so great in the beginning of a relationship then it goes downhill from there? Its some food for thought........Think about it
